The course is best described as heavily undulating but the stunning vistas across the lake and beyond to Scafell Pike, make the heavy breathing seem worthwhile. The golf is tricky but fun on a course that measures just 5132 yards.

It is actually deceptively short with six par threes and several short fours that will tempt anyone who fancies themselves as a longer hitter, to get the big dog out and have a crack. But for anyone who strays off line there's plenty that will make a mess of your scorecard.
