If I was forced to choose one golf course to play for the rest of my life, I have no doubt that Royal Dornoch would be it.
One round is never enough on this Highlands gem and the more you play Dornoch, the more you appreciate the delights of its design.
It is easy to see why the upturned saucer greens have inspired so many designs around the world as they mean every round of golf is a different challenge.
Dornoch has one of the finest sets of par 3s going, set on a piece of land that never fails to take the breath away. POH
+ Good value; great views; a course that always leaves you wanting more
- Clubhouse would benefit from modernisation; a little inaccessible

Played the course on Monday. It was an absolute delight. The greens were amazing for mid november and although the course was much shorter than in the summer, the price had been cut making it a very reasonable price for a top 20 course. (£50)
Ok its a long long way north and its barren but the scenery was stunning and every hole fantastic!
A 4hr drive from Edinburgh or fly to inverness and its about 30-45mins in a car - not at all bad for such a great quality links. Winter golf the way it should be - no such thing as temporary greens and a course so empty you think its your own private course! Brilliant.

This is how golf was played and should be played! one of the most amazing places on the planet. The drive was long but well worth it, if you play one course it should be this one! It shouldn't be about the money or how far away it is, it's about the golf and this is fantastic! Play it, thats all I say play it, For anyone that lives within the uk make the point to go, tell everyone you were here and when your old, remember the day you were here.
