Despite hosting the Walker Cup and the Amateur Championship during the 1990s, Nairn remains one of the lesser-known courses in the upper echelons.
There is no obvious reason for this as it is a superb, classic links, well defended by bunkers, wind and gorse. One feature, of which the club is perhaps unduly boastful, is that “only too easily can you strike the ball into the sea on every one of the first seven.”
There are views of the Moray Firth from every hole, and visitors can enjoy a round for as little as £30 over the winter months. RS
