In terms of sheer visual drama, possibly only Old Head can surpass this North Wales cliff-top stunner.
Little surprise that the “Golf Wales” tourist board campaign turns to Nefyn photographically to promote the game in the Principality.
There are 26 holes – a front 10, then alternative back eights, of which the Old, played over a slender, snaking peninsula known as “The Point” jutting into the Irish Sea, is the only serious choice for anyone wishing to savour the full Nefyn experience.
One of my favourite places to play, and my only regret is not having found time to visit more often. JE
+ Spectacular views; unforgettable experience; reasonable green fees
- Exposed to the elements; golfers and walkers have to share the peninsula

If you are holidaying in the area, golf at Nefyn is a must. Well worth going out on the "old" 8, which takes you along the headland. Avoid bank holidays, too many walkers around on those fairways. However, the views and the challenge are brilliant, on 13th driving over the cliffs, 14th, par 3 from the lighthouse, all stuff of stories, great day out.

August 2007, great weather, wonderful course, fantastic company. Well two out of three ain't bad as the saying goes. Driving from Yorkshire to North Wales to play the acclaimed Nefyn and District. We set off with beautiful blue skies, but as we neared the welsh border the skies began to turn a slightly darker colour. We never saw the sun again for two days. As we approached the course the clouds began to envelope the rolling hills and everyone must have thought we wont be playing today. But no, us yorkshire lads are made of sturn stuff, we have come this far we will be playing. So the tee times were drawn and we teed off into a howling gail and driving rain. after the first hole we all agreed this was going to be a tough two days, and so it turned out. Nobody scored over 30 points. but all agreed what a fantastic place to play this great game. with fantastic company and beautiful weather. Well never mind, as i said at the beginning two out of three ain't bad

When I first saw this place some ten years ago, it was love at first sight! What a magnificant place to enjoy golf, great challenge and you can see the sea from every one of the 26 holes. The Old Course has perhaps one of the best holes you will ever play (13th), though te tightness of the Pennisula does render two of the holes a little Mickey Mouse. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, and must rank in the top ten of the Top 100 for value. Enjoying a pint of guiness at the famed Ty Coch pub on Nefyn beach (just below the 12th Green) is also an expeience worth travelling for.
