What this two-ball course lacks in length, it more than makes up for in beauty and charm. The real challenge lies in its long par 4s of which five exceed 440 yards, among them the 17th where it's easy to lose it right, and the well-bunkered 18th. There's a super mix of one-shotters, the pick of which are the ‘Beauty and the Beast' pair at 5 and 6, the former framed by sand and pine, the latter a 226-yard brute over marshland, though mercifully it is at least downhill. And if you want to take advantage of the solitary par 5, warm up first, for it comes on the opening hole.

Panellists' comments: "Excellent example of a traditional club"; "Shows you don't have to be a championship-length course to excel"
