Design and Tech Benefits

The inner core has been reformulated and its size has been increased to create extra speed off the face for added distance. The middle layer has been made thinner for added spin on short shots. The ball is designed to produce a slightly lower driver trajectory compared to the '07 model.

Titleist Pro V1x golf ball review

Golf Monthly Verdict

Provided the outstanding feel you would expect from a Pro V1. The new cover certainly seemed to last longer than previous offerings and still felt superb off the face. Off the tee it still performed impressively, providing the length that the Pro V1 is synonymous with.

The Titleist Pro V1 is a great ball to stike im am sure tom watson used that golf ball in this years open.On a windy day providing you strike the ball correcty it penetrates the wind which is good for me being a golfer in aberdeen. On a dry sunny day it sits on green providing of course the golf ball is struck properly the ball settles on green well.Over the peice out of 10 it gets 10 out of ten for me.

We all know from the advertising that the Pro V1 is the choice for the majority of professionals, and we all know that it has been the benchmark from which to judge all other balls. But given that it is used by so many better players I thought with my slow-ish swing speed amd mid handicap I would be more suited to one of Titleists other models. However to my surprise I find even I get more distance and more feel from these.
They really seem to fly off the clubface of my driver and my hybrids giving me every yard of distance possible from my swing. Pleasingly approach shots sit down on the putting surface quickly and the feel from little half wedge shots around the greens is gorgeous.
Sure they are expensive but what price do you put on playing well?
