Golf Monthly Verdict
The Cobra S9-1 Pro driver has a beautiful head that is realistically only for extremely confident ball strikers. Geoff Ogilvy’s superb play this year is proof of how effective this can be in the right hands. The black head and face looks fantastic and shots from the middle produce an awesome flight.

This driver has a very dead feeling and sound at impact. The looks of this driver are the only positive as the performance is not up to a high enough standard. I had the cobra pro s x-peed previously and even though it was not as pretty it performed great. I am considering trading in my s9 pro fir a callaway ft9.

I recently purchased the S9-1 Driver as well as a Cobra baffler hybrid. Both have quickly become favourites. The driver sets up very well to my eye. It has a great feel to it and it is an absolute gem to hit balls with. Great feel, very forgiving, long. It has really boosted my confidence hitting driver. I tried about 10 top drivers before purchasing and this one as well as the Titleist DComp were my favourites. My ball speed is about 120 to 140 mph.

I bought S9-1 Pro D after trying all top drivers on the market at a custom fiting session and love it! Have gained 20-30 yards off the tee. Fantastic looking club, slightly unusual sound but perfect ball flight and extremely long. Need fairly high swing and ball speed, if you do this is a great club.

I've struggled for years with a driver and mainly always used a 3-wood off the tee because of this, I tried this club along with the new Mizuno and titlest driver at my local pro shop demp day, Although I liked the Mizuno I get a far greater distance and feel frm the cobra, Bar far my fav club in the bag now and i dont hesitate to use it when ever i can, I cant sing its praises enough even on off centre hits it goes well.

I've had the pro s for 2 days now - having borrowed and used the 3 wood from the same range I found i was comfortably knocking the 3 wood past my titleist driver. So I took the plunge and got the driver - it's awesome, mishits go as far as the titleist and the centre strikes produce a lovely flight and fantastic distance, the club's workability is very good and even into the wind i find the ball has more penetration than my 8.5 titleist did.
Can't wait to get on the course again to give it some more punishment!

I have been looking for a driver for the last year, finally come across a driver i have full confidence in... i bought the pro s drver and never looked back, only buy this club if you have a fast swing and you are a confident ball striker this is not for the high handicapper, the shafts that are put in are superb similar to the project x.
I rate this club so much ball flight is sensational and distance is quite unbelievable.. 5 STAR...
