Cleveland Launcher XL270 driver review
Review Date: 19th May 2011
Design and Tech Benefits
The lightest of Cleveland's three Launcher Ultralite models, the 270g Cleveland Launcher XL270 is fitted with the extremely light Miyazaki C. Kua 39 Series shaft. Cleveland's Right Weighting System promises to find the ideal weight for 99% of golfers. Fantastic distance on offer and achieved through a head that looks superb behind the ball.
The Cleveland Launcher XL270 is a bomber of a driver that will not be suited to those who seek added workability.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Fun is the operative word with the Cleveland Launcher XL270 thanks to a lightweight design that provides all out yardage. The featherweight shaft and head will take some getting used to but will add yardage.

This is just an excellent driver. I am now 70+ and have been struggling to keep any reasonable distance off the tee. Having switched shafts from US Reg to A and down to Asian Reg spec, I was not too hopefull that I would find much improvement but I was wrong...forrtunately I have always had a fairly smooth slowish swing so didn't have too much trouble getting used to the lightness and after only a couple of rounds this driver is so good for me. Drives are straight and I have actually gained some distance, probably because I am achieving a slightly lower ball flight than previously. The Miyazaki shaft is excellent and overall cosmetics are good, only con for me was no line-up mark on the head but I have put one there with a small dab of white paint. I paid the equivilent of 160 GBPounds for this club in Malaysia and consider it an excellent acquisition.
