TaylorMade r7 CGB Max driver

Price: £329.00

This triangular-headed driver from TaylorMade is designed for high-launching drives and maximum forgiveness, with adjustable weights that TaylorMade says will allow you to vary lateral flight by up to 35 yards.

Design and Tech Benefits

The distinctive triangular head on this driver sets the centre of gravity way back from the face, making it easy to launch, and highly stable on mis-hits. It contains adjustable weights so that you can play around with flight shape.

Golf Monthly Verdict

A typically solid TaylorMade impact feel. The slightly closed driver felt more like a Burner than a SuperQuad at impact to me, and when I got the tee height right, it really flew with lots of hang time.

Just bought one of these and played a round with it this morning. Could'nt believe I got 30 yards more distance and hit nearly all fairways, even my bad shots just rolled off the fairway into the light rough.
my Ping G10 can't touch this for distance and accuracy. Best purchase I have made to date. I am going to try the Fairway woods out next.

Age 71, handicap 15. 44 years experience. Bought this driver in May 2008 (10.5 degrees, regular shaft) as I found that my Ping Si3 driver (12 degrees, regular shaft) gives too high a flight in windy conditions or on links courses. Well constructed, nice balance during the swing, solid feel. Driving distance increased 10-15 metres, with neutral weights setting, to about 220 metres. Dispersion slightly greater than the Ping. Expensive and needs practice to get the best out of it. Rating 4.5 out of 5.
