Wilson Staff Spine driver
Price: £229.00
If you can get over the unusual head shape and bright shaft colour of this Wilson driver, its promised performance benefits include a long ball flight with plenty of forgiveness.
Design and Tech Benefits
Wilson says the Spine’s shape and construction delivers the maximum moment of inertia allowed under current driver regulations. The ridge running from face to back on the crown is designed to strengthen the face behind the central impact area, pushing ball speed up at impact.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Mixed office reaction to the white shaft and head shape but news of Harrington’s testing spurred me into serious hitting action – and it was well worth it. Great sound – appropriately rather than obtrusively loud – great feel and a long flight on a perfect trajectory for me. Further investigation required.

This club is one of the best drivers today. I used to slice the ball a lot but with this my drives always stay on the fairway. The looks fill you with confidence before you take your shot. I used to have the TaylorMade burner but the Spine is in a different league.
I highly recommend everyone to buy this.

What a club! Unusual to look at the first time you see it but after a while it just fills you with confidence. I got the 10.5 degree with the regular shaft which sits a few degress closed (I think). But, it's the results that matter and they were fantastic. Quite a low, yet penatration ball flight which skips off the fairway adding vital yards onto your drives. This driver added 20 yards onto my drives which is the difference between an 8 iron and pitching wedge into teh green.
In my opinion it's a must try, but times running out with the new smooth being introduced. So get down to a local retailer and give it a bash!

I'm fairly new to golf and was using an 5+ year old Callaway Warbird before deciding to get a driver with a bigger head to inspire more confidence on the tee.
While the looks of this driver will certainly put many people off due to the two scooped out areas on the crown of the club if you can get past thet then this really is a great club. The balls gets up in the air well and stays there. While I'm not always straight off the tee the problem is certainly not club related but occurs higher up!! (i.e. me!)
You can also pick this club up for about £100 less than the RRP making it a great starter driver for those relatively new to the game.
