Titleist 909D3 & 909D2 drivers
Price: £0.00
Both the 909D2 and 909D3 are fantastic looking clubs! If you are a player looking for more accuracy and control, then you should opt for the 909D3, but if you are searching for those extra yards then you should go for the 909D2.

Design and Tech Benefits
The new 909 range includes three new drivers designed for better players with a wide variety of swing characteristics. The 909D3 has a classic Titleist pear-shaped head, which is 440cc to provide extra workability. The titanium head is weighted in a way that produces a mid-launch angle with low levels of spin.
The 909D2 has a shallower face and is weighted to produce a medium launch with low-to-mid spin. A weighted screw in the head of all three models repositions the centre of gravity deep in the head for increased distance. Three factory installed weight options mean the head and shaft can be tuned to match.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Titleist have bravely bucked the trend to stick to the maximum 460cc head size limit in a bid to offer better players more control from a smaller club. With our perceptions shifted over the last couple of years we felt that looking down at address, the 909D3 did look rather small. But while it may lack the yardage of the other two drivers, the ability to control the trajectory and shape made this an impressive performer.
The 909D2 sits neatly between the other two drivers offering performance attributes from both. The classic pear-shaped titanium head has a traditional look and feel while also offering decent levels of forgiveness. We reckon the mid launch angle produced a blend of penetrating flight and impressive carry through the air that will help a range of different players improve both their accuracy and distance stats.

This new range of Titleist drivers tick all the boxes for me,all three models are cosmetically pleasing at set up including the D3 which is smaller than the other two but still fills you with confidence by looking bigger than the old 905 series.
Having a bigger than usual sweet spot for a Titleist gives you added confidence to commit to the swing with positive results being majority factor
I personally like the D2 better out of the three , with it coming out on top while trying them out.

I have always liked the classic pear-shaped profile of Titleist drivers. 909D2 fits the bill for me especially when combined with the high quality diamana or voodoo shafts available as stock shafts. I have used aldila vs proto and believe the voodoo will be a good fit for me. Looking forward to owning one of these.

Callaway FT5 10degrees Draw. Having used the Mizuno Mp001 for the last four years a change was in the offing. Having demoed loads of different makes and specs I was given the Callaway to try.
This was the first time I had tried a Callaway driver and wish I had done so sooner. The club just seems to take the ball away with very little effort from me. The flight is not overly high but just seems to carry on and on. Getting better distance than the Mizuno but more important I am much more accurate.
I'm really looking forward to next season with this club in the bag, and am sure it will help me to improve my game.
Bottom line though is to really try for yourself lots of options before deciding and i hope my review is helpful.

Here goes folks - my first post and I thought I'd take the opportunity to dive straight in and review the Titleist 909 D2.
If I can start by saying that I need to stand up and confess that I am a Golf Addict. I think I need professional help - I dont have cash coming out my ears, but the most important thing is that my children have clothes and food on the table, but I cant stop buying golf gear. Over the last 10 years I've spent enough for a townhouse in Spain and a car more capable than I already own.
My drivers over the last 3-4 years have been Titleist 983k,983e,905T,905S,905R,907D2, Callaway FT3, Taylor Made 320,340,360, Burner TP etc. You get the picture, I keep confusing the thought that I can actually buy the ability to get the ball in the fairway when in reality the money would be better spent going and getting a lesson from a decent pro.
Yet again I went to the local golf shop and walked in with the view that I wasnt going to get suckered into buying yet another Titleist driver which was virtually the same as all the other Titleist drivers that I had ever bought. Yet again I saw the gleaming bit of black metal and yet again I thought - she's the dog for me.
Today was the first outing with the new 909D2 with Aldila Voodoo Stiff shaft. Hating myself that I'd actually parted with the cash for yet another Titleist driver, I have to say that this is the first one that I have been genuinely impressed with. In the past I've found Titleist drivers not as long as Taylor Made driver's, not as forgiving as Callaway but I really believe that at last they've stepped up to the plate and delivered a great driver with a good stock shaft - which is always a bone of contention for lower handicap golfers.
To start with the Aldila Voodoo as this is really the engine that drives the whole thing. Firstly I was impressed at how stable the shaft felt without at the same time feeling as if I was swinging an iron bar. Secondly the dark burgundy colour with the spiralling graphics around it looked sensational also.
I went for an 8.5 degree Driver as I am sick of turing into the wind and losing distance as I watch the ball climb into the air. The 909D2 bores fantastically well into the wind and the face has an unusally soft feel - which I suppose is some sort of legal trampoline effect working on the face. I'm not going to say I hit the ball 20-30 yards further but the feel and accuracy was highly impressive with good distance being achieved also.
I didnt want to like this driver just so that I could have a go at myself for being so weak as to buying yet another Titleist driver, but currently I am in the honeymoon period and I think this driver may be staying in the bag for a long time. I think Titleist have a winner on their hands.

I have played with the D2 for 2 weeks. It is very accurate. A bad swing will still have a bad result. The distance is good. I put a Matrix Ozik code 6 in the driver. This is the best driver by Titleist since the 983.
