Golf Monthly Verdict

When we first heard that Titleist had put a graphite crown in the top of this driver, the immediate worry was over the impact noise and related feel. Gladly, they’ve worked hard to deliver a powerful sound that actually enhances the feel of this club. With the weight lower in the head we found this flew noticeably higher than the 909D3, which should attract those after more carry through the air. With a plethora of excellent shaft options available in each of the drivers, they are set to become a popular range. Where next? This version has a lightweight composite crown with a deep face. The 460cc head creates a high MOI to improve forgiveness and offer extra distance. The lightweight crown also means that the centre of gravity is deep in the head to produce a higher launch without increasing spin. Sole ridges in the back of the head on all three models reduce vibrations for a solid feel and improved impact sound.
