Design and Tech Benefits

Cleveland Launcher fairway woods review

The new Launcher driver combines a traditional shaped head with the latest in modern technology. The face is 21% larger than the original Launcher and the Launcher Comp. The crown is made as thin as possible (0.5mm), which allows for the majority of weight to be placed low and deep in the head. A horseshoe shaped weight pad is positioned on the rear of the sole and when combined with the lightweight crown it produces a high launch and keeps the head extremely stable at impact.

Golf Monthly Verdict

This was a big hit in the Golf Monthly office, initially because of a great-looking head, which turned out to be an extremely impressive performer. The impact noise and the feeling off the face is just right. Shots consistently flew long and it was easy to find the sweetspot on a regular basis. The only slight criticism was the unnecessarily large alignment aid, but after a couple of hits this is quickly forgotten.

Today I used this driver for the first time on the course having been restricted to the driving range thus far due to the freezing conditions. Wow! Long high and straight. Lovely feel and great sound. I opted for the Flightspeed Red Regular shaft for a 'tour' flight. Can't wait when my mates come out of hibernation and see how far I can hit this beauty!

At the golf corse i play at which is kilnwick percy golf club in pocklington in east yorkshire the shop sells alot of cleveland products and everytime i play golf i see at least 1 peson with a set of cleveland golf clubs. The thing i love about cleveland is the sound of the driver which is quite hollow and deep sound and i love its headcover which is white with the logo in red and the sleeve in red it just looks posh and funky which makes people immedietly wanna buy it because of its looks.

Have had this new driver for only a few weeks & woooo! Mine is a 9 degree with a 45.5" "UST ProForce V2 65" S flex graphite shaft. We have had apretty horrible winter here in New Zealand, but on the few chances I have used it, it's been amazing! Extra long, high and forgiving! I had a '07 Launcher before this and the '09 seems to be giving me more length!
