Design and Tech Benefits

Three weight ports in the back of the head allow players to manipulate where the centre of gravity sits to alter the flight characteristics of their drives. The TaylorMade r7 Limited offers players flight changes of up to 35 yards between a right-to-left and left-to-right shape. Inverted Cone Technology in the face should also help create fast ball speed for long drives.

Golf Monthly Verdict

Looking down at address, this driver appears to belong to the triangular Burner family, more than its more classic-shaped TaylorMade r7 predecessor. The smaller 440cc head offers excellent levels of control. It produced a consistently strong flight that coped well in windy conditions.

I play off a 8 handicap and I got one of these to replace my old r7-CGB (stiff-shaft). I wanted a driver that gave me a more penetrating ball flight and that felt a little heavier in terms of swing weight. The r7 limited (stiff-shaft) doesn't disappoint on both counts and it looks great too behind the ball. I now feel I can work the ball more readily and control the flight alot more.

Bought the TaylorMade R7 Limited to replace Callaway FT-3 Tour. Tested Taylormade R9 and R7 Limited, Titleist 909 D2, Cobra S-9 Tour and Bridgestone drivers. R7 Limited won hands down - easy to control (draw and fade), very powerful ball flight and plenty of forgiveness. Would recommend to any low to mid handicapper.
