Callaway Big Bertha Diablo driver review

Design and Tech Benefits
The Callaway Big Bertha Diablo is an all-titanium driver designed to help square the face at impact, particularly when swinging hard. Available in neutral and heel-biased draw versions, the head is uniquely shaped to provide the optimal launch and high MOI.

Golf Monthly Verdict
The way the eye-catching Diablo sits at address suggests it has been designed for maximum forgiveness, and our testing undoubtedly backed this up. For those who struggle with a slice, even the neutral version encouraged an in-to-out swing path and the draw version should definitely help straighten things up.

I have Just bought this club to replace my MD Superstrong EQL Sq Driver, which I consistently sliced. Now, having only just stared playing again after a break of some 20 years, I was fully aware it was probably my swing, and not my driver that was the overriding problem, nevertheless I wanted to get professionally fitted out to make sure.
Wow! all changed with this boy; my accuracy has improved tenfold along with my distance. Was a bit sceptical about some of the claims manufactures and industry journalism make about clubs, new kit, etc, but have to say I am mighty impressed, and glad to be proven a bitter cynic, this club IS TOP QUALITY, 10 out off 10!!

I've recently purchased this driver, and its added length and accuracy to my once hideous tee shot. It's a very forgiving club and has helped me out on a few less then perfect shots. The neutral version of this club is the model I decided on with a 10 degree angle, allowing for me to hit a nice draw off the tee. The (more) closed faced model provided a near straight shot with perhaps a slight fade on a few shots. I chose the neutral face, that I might correct my swing even further and have full control over whether I want to hit straight or play a slight draw.
This club has already helped my game in the reasonably short time that its been in my possession. I recommend this club to other golfers I know.
10 out of 10
Happy pin hunting

I tried this club as a possible replacement for my Benross compresser. I found it is alot lighter than i am used to and very easy to swing. The weight on it would suit someone with a slower swing speed. I found it was good on distance and accuracy and forgivness was great on bad swings. The only reason i didnt buy this driver was i felt i was hitting my current driver really well and they were other parts of my bag that needed attention more urgantly. When i do replace my driver this will be the first club i look at.

A friend of mine won the 10 degree draw version (regular flex) of this club and gave it to me! He told me it would help me with my driving. Having been a lifetime long hitter with whatever clubs I used, I was not really too fussed about giving the club a try.
My first attempt with the club ended up with me bursting out laughing, as I thought he had given me a joke rubber shafted club - the ball left the club face like a damp sqib!
He assured me that it was my "too fast, too powerful thrashing swing" that was the problem - not the club!
I was advised to swing the club at half speed - this I did. In fact I swung the club almost in slow motion to my mindset. And...........
Wow! The blooming ball shot out of the clubface like a bullet out of a rifle!
It travelled around 290yds straight as an arrow with a beautiful trajectory to it.
Since that day I have learned to slow my swing down with equal results to thrashing the ball. My overall game has also improved as I am hitting much more fairways than ever before, so entire game is now much easier, especially on my back.
I am looking forward to heading into middle age golf with my now trusty Diablo Driver.
Thanks Mr Brian McCorry for the Club and for allowing me to really enjoy my golf once again.
