This large-headed, multi-material fairway wood from Yonex has an unusual pentagon shape, which combines with the exclusive shaft to increase clubhead speed and therefore distance.
Design and Tech Benefits
The “Aero Pentagon” shape should help smooth the flow of air around the clubhead as you swing, improving stability and helping maintain faster impact speeds. The use of a carbon graphite crown pushes the centre of gravity lower and deeper for optimum launch angles.
Golf Monthly Verdict
It took me a few swings to get to the bottom of the ball, perhaps due to quite a large head size for a lofted wood. When we got there it proved highly playable, although ball flight was perhaps a touch lower than I was expecting for a 7-wood off the deck. Slightly metallic, yet not unpleasant, impact sound.
