Mizuno MX-700 fairway wood review
Review Date: 4th March 2009
Design and Tech Benefits
The Mizuno MX-700 fairway wood's face is plasma-welded to the body to produce higher ball speeds for added distance. The weight saved in the face means the crown has been made wider to help produce a driver-like flight. This is an excellent go-to club when the driver isn't firing, especially useful for those looking to improve consistency in their long game.

Golf Monthly Verdict
The Mizuno MX-700 fairway wood's head design and graphics work just as well as they do on the driver. The relatively large head and wide sole mean that the club comes into its own when used from the tee. Those who want a fairway wood that they can use from the light rough should try Mizuno's F-60.

I am 59 and have started playing again after a long (10+ year) layoff. I still have a great set of Mizuno TP-9 irons and I recently bought the MX-700 Driver which is superb, very long with an easy strike. So I purchased the MX-700 fairway (3 wood) to replace my very old 3 wood and it's even better. Not only almost as long (225 yard flight typically) but straight more often than not on tee and on grass.
