MacGregor MacTec M685
Review Date: 14th May 2008
Design and Tech Benefits
orged cavity backs with thick toplines and hollow body design. Silver finish.Forged irons using a harder steel, a hollow-body design and thicker toplines in the long irons for extra playability where it's most needed.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Very impressive in terms of both looks and feel-especially in the longer irons where the thicker top edge boosted confidence from long range. Altogether a good performer.

Superb feel and as easy to hit as anything you can buy. Very unusual with players type clubs like these with minimal offset. They really should be tried. The three iron is as easy to hit as a six in most clubs. Let down by flimsy "decoration" to the back of the clubs. Stickers will fall off no matter how well you look after them. Friends who have tried them with my encouragement thought the stiff shafts in the set I had were regular because they are so user friendly. Best clubs I ever owned. Had to sell them though because they got so scruffy looking with the sticker issue. Would rush out to buy another set tomorrow if MacGregor left a plain back to the clubs so they would stay smart looking with use.
