Design and Tech Benefits

The TaylorMade R11 irons are a set designed to sit between the forgiving TaylorMade Burner 2.0 irons and the workable TaylorMade Tour Preferred Series. An ultra-thin face is combined with Inverted Cone Technology to help produce increased ball speeds for added distance. The top line is thicker in the long irons to help improve forgiveness. A weight port in the back of the head allows swing weight and the centre of gravity to be precisely set.

The TaylorMade R11 irons will suit those who want a compact head, but plenty of forgiveness and/or anyone looking for added distance without going oversize.

Golf Monthly Verdict

For me, these are a huge improvement on the TaylorMade R9 irons. This is mainly down to the smooth feel from an iron that
still looks and plays quite forgiving. TaylorMade has struck an ideal balance between feel and forgiveness.

Few low handicappers will see the topline as too thick, but there are tangible forgiveness gains on offer here. The feel throughout the set is also superb.

TaylorMade has used the weight port in the back of the head as a clear visual sign of the technology going into its irons. For those who want their irons to have a simple, classic appearance, this might be off-putting.

PGA Pro verdict

A very striking iron, that gives excellent feel and playability. The undercut cavity provides great launch characteristics and the progressive offset improves the performance on offer in the long irons. The top edge gives a look of a game-improvement product, but this should never be a negative. On test they gave great feel, especially when shaping shots. A great addition to the range. i stopped playing golf for about 5 years after reaching and playing to a 8 h cap.
i started playing again with my old x18 irons and i was consistently playing to a 14 h cap, i then decided to buy the R11 driver irons and recovery clubs.
within a matter of 4 weeks i was playing regularly to a 10 h cap the driver, irons are simply fantastic the distance and forgiveness of the clubs are unbelievable. i can honestly say they are and outstanding set of clubs.
i would recommend them to anybody.
BRILLIANT

I took a ong time to purchase these as I had just come off a great season that saw my h/cap come down from 11 to 7.6. I had a load of money in the club shop through wins and wanted to update my old Mizuno MX20's that I loved, but felt had taken me as far as they could. I tested plenty including Ping I15, Callaway, Mizuno MP53 & 59 etc etc. I thought I wouldn't like these as never rated TM as an iron brand, but have to say I was utterly wrong and these are great. They offer good length. as good feel as my forged Mizuno's and are really accurate. I love the smaller head size in the shorter irons, but like a lot of players I wanted my 4 iron to look like it had something to hit a ball with. I have good control from all irons and enough feel for me to shape the ball and get the feedback I want. Possibly 1 drawback might be that they are very shiney and will glare back at me come the summer, but I wont mind if it means I get some sunny golf.

The Game

I am a 22 hcp golfer who started to play golf in 2009. Used to have TM Burner series (the very first Burner) played almost every week at range and once a month on green! Sad to say my very first round of golf end with 125! Even that drop to 94 ~ 98 after 2 years.... Didnt really think I will break the 90 mark until I changed to R11 Iron 2 months back! The clubs is just GREAT! Am having more distance and better control on ball flight and that helps alots in my game. Finally last week, the 90 marks had been broken, a score of 88 and I am extremelly happy with the new Iron!
Hope it continue to bring my score downwards......

Great Iron that TM had produce!
