Cobra S9 and FP irons
Price: £415.00
Cobra has redesigned their S9 and F9 iron models for 2009. Here we take a comparative look at the two to see what's changed.
Design and Tech Benefits
Both the S9 and FP irons have been redesigned for 2008. The S9 has a multi-material construction which includes an expanded three-piece polymer topline and urethane sole insert. They are designed to offer a higher launch angle, greater distance and more accuracy than ever.
The new FP has a sleeker head than previously and a full cavity-back with a urethane membrane for enhanced feel. Heel and toe perimeter weighting provides added forgiveness.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Two strong performers here. The FPs have been made sleeker and look great over the ball. I usually find that with deep cavities I hit the ball too high but these produced a great trajectory. The S9s provided major levels of forgiveness
and the redistributed weight really does seem to square the face at impact. Two excellent,
if very different, irons
