Titleist AP1 irons
Price: £525.00
With the introduction of the AP1 Titleist has created its most forgiving iron of recent times. The added playability opens up Titleist as an option for higher handicappers than the ZM and ZB forged models.

Design and Tech Benefits
Key features of the AP1 inlcude a dual cavity, multi-material design that optimises weight distribution for feel and forgiveness. There's an elastomer cushion to dampen vibrations, while sole width, bounce and camber all promise maximum versatility and performance. Shorter hosels in the long irons allow a better weight distribution for easier launch potential.
Golf Monthly Verdict
A good-looking iron, the AP1 proved to be more widely playable than virtually any previous Titleist iron model. We think golfers right up to a handicap of 20 could use these quite effectively.

Finally an iron for the mid handicapper. Not too much offset, high but not ballooning flight and just the right amount of forgiveness. Up until I bought the AP1's I had never really found my perfect set, during brief periods when I was really on my game I optimistically bought forged semi blades which worked for a while, but then went through periods when a set of hybrids would have presented a challenge for me. I have now played 8 games with my AP1's and can not recommend them highly enough for the average player who needs some help but doesn't want to use a shovel.
