Design and Tech Benefits

On the Wilson Di9 irons the cavity and sweetspot have been placed between the centre and the toe based on the fact that 85% of shots hit by amateurs are struck from this area of the face. Compared to the Wilson Di7 irons, the sole is wider and the blade height is slightly lower, making long irons easier to hit. An insert is placed in the cavity and combined with increased mass in the heel helps remove unwanted vibrations. The wide tip of the shaft prevents the clubhead from twisting.

Golf Monthly Verdict

For a club that is created with accuracy as the main focus, the Wilson Di9 irons sit beautifully at address. The large heads instilled confidence without being too bulky to look down on. The off-centre cavity and sweetspot design is a new concept and, if the extreme levels of forgiveness are anything to go by, it’s a welcome addition.

I currently play Di 7s, i really like these new irons and will probably upgrade soon, the fact the shaft is 7 grams lighter means greater clubhead speed and loads of distant , i was hitting it with a touch of draw in no time, movin the cavity sweetspot worked perfectly,
Things i didnt like , no 3 iron in left handed? would prefer gap wedge instead of sand iron as standard , didnt like the new grips and at £379.00 theres plenty of choice out there.

I recomend this club hugely, if you ever get a chance to try it out, do it.

Not bad Irons for the price.Nice looking.Balls fly inconsistantly from club face making distance hard to control.Really need the approach wedge as the wedge is about 46 degrees and sandwedge 55 this is quite a big gap and they sell another to slot in as well. This does add money on to the set.Overall decent value for the money spent.

I started playing golf 1 year ago and picked up a set of Acer XP905 steel shafted irons, some sort of a Callaway X18 rip off club or something... My hcp went up and down in the 30's like a yoyo with these clubs and I couldn't get any consistency to my game.

Now I have played the steel shafted Di9's ($208 5-GW off the bay) three times since I bought them and have finally reached the hcp 20's. The clubs look great and gives me confidence at address and they just feel solid. I'm not going to give the clubs all the credit for boosting my game, as I was finally starting to understand the basics of the golf swing anyways (special thanks to Shawn Clement on youtube;).

The 3,5 degree gap system works a treat for my game and makes judging distances pretty easy. With the lofts being as strong as they are, my current Di9 pitcher is equal to my old 9 iron. This is where the approach -and gap wedge, at 46' and 49'5 respectively, come in handy. I also carry a Cleveland 54' and 60' wedge in my bag and feel very well covered in my short game.

One last thing; in my pre-Di9 life, the 5 iron was my ultimate nemesis - now I'm hitting my new 5 like it's just another club! Makes me want to go buy a Di9 4 iron!

At $208 they were a steal and I would recommend them to anyone new to golf out there!

I have had the Di9's now for around 6 months and previously owned the Di7's both with the TX True Temper Uniflex shaft standard lofts lie and length. When i had the Di7's i bought them because i was struggling with my game i was a 14 handicap. I went and signed up for lessons and what was apparant was how much the Pro loved the Di7's and told me to stick with them so i did. I managed to reduce my handicap to 7.6 with them. When the new Di9's came out i just bought them from Ebay for $230 dollars 5-AW. These clubs are absolutely stunning and are by far the longest clubs i have ever hit the 5 Iron goes around 200 yds and the 7 Iron 165 Yds. I hear people saying it's the lofts but who cares right? It has allowed me to drop out a 3 & 4 Iron and include now a 5 wood as well as a 23* Resscue and an extra wedge. The clubs are lite so allow for more club head speed, which equals more distance. I played the Montgomerie here in Dubai recently and shot a 74 with these clubs, so anyone telling you they are not a players club and you can't fade and draw them is talking rubbish. These clubs are long and go where you point them. They are still in excellent condition after 6 months of regular play. Feel free to mail me if you want any other information. The best clubs i have ever owned. Good luck all.

These are some very solid irons for the intermediate golfer. They have very good forgiveness, and look good too. The only thing is though, I cannot get my full potential when it comes to distance. I used these to get a good swing engraved in my mind and to get more consistent, thats about it. I am switching to nike cci's/cobra fp's.For the money I would definitely recommend these for a 17-20 handicapper.
