PING G5 irons review
Review Date: 23rd October 2008
G5
Price: £80.00
PING's reputation as a manufacturer of forgiving irons has been further strengthened by the launch of the PING G5 model.
Design and Tech Benefits
Brushed-finish, deep-cavity, oversize head with heel notch and rear tuning port that helps better distribute weight around the head. The deep parallel cavity allows a wider, more playable sole and boosts perimeter weighted forgiveness potential.Large heads and deep, wide soles help push centre of gravity lower and deeper for easy launching. A larger rear Custom Tuning Port helps dampen vibrations for better feel off the clubface.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Bigger, more offset heads than we’re used to. But the G5 is just one easy-to-hit club throughout – as you’d expect from a company that’s ploughed the game-improvement furrow for five decades now.
