Design and Tech Benefits
The Titleist Scotty Cameron California putters are inspired by some of Cameron's early classic and handmade designs. The California series features four new head shapes. the Coronado, Monterey, Sonoma and Del Mar models all have different head and neck styles and are available in multiple length, lie and head weight options. The whole line has a 'honey dipped' rich bronze finish to help reduce glare. The Titleist Scotty Cameron California putters should suit golfers who are looking for high-quality putter design, have confidence in their putting stroke, and like a different finish.
Golf Monthly Verdict
The 'honey dipped' finish makes these stand out from the usual Scotty design but the impressive quality remains the same. Perfectly weighted, the four classic heads all sit beautifully while the classic shapes will appeal to those who are confident on short putts.

Having had a few putts with the Del Mar it is now on my wishlist... however, it'll have to remain on my wishlist, as at the price they are asking i could have two different White Hot XGs that play almost as well.
The looks are exquisite and the deeper sole with the single guide line is exactly what i'm looking for in a putter. It would be nice if they made it with no offset. The feel and weight of the club was spot on.

TaylorMade Burner Rescue
I've always been a proponent to the traditional approach of golf and always played with irons and fairway woods and never looked favorably on using a Rescue wood. However I recently won a prize of a a TaylorMade Burner Rescue 3 club and have been suitably won over by this club. There is just so much more versatility in using this club and should you miss a fairway and end up in the rough, this club club comes into its own and lives up to its name "rescue" and I've found I've got the ball airborn and flown it a long way even when the rough is wet and drags on the club.
The versatility in one's shot makeing is also impressive playing a high fade to land the ball soft or keeping it low in the wind and shaping the ball either way has proven relatively easy. It has been a suitable bridge between my 5 wood and 3 iron dependant on the type of shot and so has allowed me to carry and extra wedge for where shots really matter with ones short game.
So anyone who has not tried a rescue before, give it a whirl as it has made a difference to the consistancy of my game and left me with far more options in the bag.
This is one area where improvements in technology have made a difference to my game.

As always Scotty has produced a range of beautiful putters, however it seems most of us are destined to never get to use them due to the price. It seems to be a trend these days with the main manufacturers to keep upping the cost of new putters, £150 used to be expensive, but now it seems to be the cheap end of branded putters ?

beautiful looking club , great feel and response , soft grip and all round a very good club , however , the price is vastly more expensive than a lot of other great putters out there .

Just bought a California Del Mar as a belated Xmas present to myself. Beautiful putter and perfectly balanced. Not sure why but seems easier to align than some others I tried. You only live once and this club will probably mean you never need to buy another short stick. Go for it.
