Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth review
Price: £139.00
The modern mallet that burst onto the scene at the US Open this year when Rocco Mediate used it to push Tiger Woods all the way. The latest in a long line of very popular Odyssey putters.
Design and Tech Benefits
The Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth was in the bag of Rocco Mediate this year when he challenged Tiger so brilliantly at the US Open. The unusual headshape, with two sets of “fangs”, is designed to provide a high moment of inertia which should help with both alignment and stroke. The White Hot XG insert is inspired by the multi-layer technology seen in Callaway balls, this provides a soft feel and improved feedback.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Since the first 2-ball putter was released Callaway has produced a number of excellent modern mallets that fill the user with confidence. The Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth is no exception to this with a design that really helps alignment and sits brilliantly at address. I found that even on the most pressurised of putts I was able to make a solid stroke. Anyone lacking confidence on the greens should consider giving this a try.

An excellent putter that sits nicely on the ground. Best putter I've used from anywhere inside 4 feet from the hole.

My putting has always been my "Achilles Heel" even though I am a category 1 golfer. Since buying my Sabretooth a few weeks ago my putting has improved dramatically and I am now much more confident on the greens. I has a great feel and my distance control is now vey good. It is great for short putts too. I really love this putter.

I'm pretty new to golf and didn't spend loads on equipment early on just in case it turned out to not be my thing.
More recently having found that golf has got me hooked I decided that the £30 eBay putter needed a replacement and this is what I chose. I tested quite a few different putters from TaylorMade to Cleveland and from Ping to Yes!. I even tried all the other models in the Odyssey range.
For me though, no other putter felt quite as balance and stable right through the putting swing. This is a great feeling putter when you get on the green in virtually any weather condition.
Still being new to golf I very pleased that I can generally put in a maximum of 2 and having sunk quite a few distance putts on flat greens with easy reads. This club has been my best purchase to date.
