Design and Tech Benefits
Key technology
The PowaKaddy Touch golf trolley is by no means a direct replacement for the Classic Legend, but this is the most easy-to-use model currently in the range. The Touch moves trolley technology to a completely different level and actually makes it easier to operate.
Rather than using a roller to control speed, the handle is touch sensitive. By grabbing the handle and walking forward it will move at the speed you are moving at. A superb innovation.

Golf Monthly Verdict
The lack of display highlights exactly what this trolley is all about. This is for those who want a stripped-back trolley with no distractions, such as measurement readings. (Reviewed by GM's Paul O'Hagan)
PGA Pro verdict
Electric trolleys don't get much simpler than this. A good design firstly provides an easy assembly and fold down. A light 18-hole battery easily fits and connects, and then it's just push and go. The handle slides up and down easily to provide various speeds and it was great to use. No other frills here, just a power trolley. If the handle stands up to repeated use this should be a good investment. (Reviewed by John Jacobs)

This trolley is brilliant. The push handle design is very clever in the way it allows you to to walk at the speed you want to walk at unlike all other electric trolleys that tend to make you walk at a slightly unnatural pace.

Don't buy this trolley: I'm on my second one as the first arrived with a broken spring (that holds the trolley together once it is unfolded). The second has a similar problem: the spring and clip that holds the two parts of the chassis together are cheap and badly designed in my view. As you move along, the spring often pops out or the clip slips meaning your handle falls down.
I've tried to get Powakaddy to take this clear design flaw seriously, but their attitude is just take it to one of our repair centres (at my cost!) and get it fixed. But this misses the point. My trolley is less than six months old and it should not be failing in this way.
For the money, this trolley is cheaply made and poor value. I strongly urge you to go elsewhere.

Good for light use - no good if daily use with a Powacaddy full sized bag + waterproofs + drink + six balls (usual golfers bits). The welding joints on the single shaft come under stress if any slight roll of the bag takes place. This happens due to narrow base of unit. Could be cured by adding a little support in this weak spot.

Bought one in late May 2011, initially all was well and good, but the first thing that happened was the retaining spring on the hinge came out. This has happened five times to me now, and although not critical it's a nuisance just the same. A far worse thing occurred in August (less than 3 months since the trolley was bought), I noticed the bag had a wobble from side to side when the trolley was moving, on closer inspection I found that the weld on the main spar had come away from the metal. I took it back to the Pro's shop where I bought it from, and am still in dispute over a replacement rather than a repair. I have read on www.golfalot.com, that another owner had the same thing happen to his trolley when it was less than 6 months old! I recommend that you avoid this trolley altogether due to its flimsy build and get something sturdier. As to its operation, well that works just fine and you just push in the handle to go (the further down you push the faster it go's) and pull back to stop/slow down. You can push the handle down till the speed is the same as your walking pace and then let go of the handle, there is no speed/distance control or battery power display etc. It is just a basic trolley that does what it says on the tin provided it stays together in one piece, the build quality is its downfall in my opinion.

I have been using this trolley for just on the 12 months when the battery failed. It is very easy to use however it topples over when going uphill, does not freewheel downhill, the battery is difficult to put in place and again the trolley easily topples over until the golf bag is in position. The umbrella holder is far too low - I am only 5 feet 2 inches and can't see where I'm going when my umbrella is up! The scorecard holder is also very weak and has now snapped off and at the current price asked it will not be replaced.Ease of use - 5 stars quality & performance - 2 stars

I bought my Powakaddy Touch in June 2011 and in September (3 months later), I had to return it so that they could re-weld the supporting brackets from the wishbone that connects the wheels, to the main shaft.
By placing a bracket that is slightly longer than the original one, Powakaddy felt that with the extra length of weld, the bracket would be more secure.
As the main shaft is aluminum, it is very difficult to weld this material, as aluminum has an outer hard shell and the inner material is soft and it's structured is like honeycomb.
I personally feel that it would be more sensible and practical, to place two bolts through a bracket that would easily slide over the main shaft.
The spring that supports that locking mechanism on the main shaft where it folds in half, has only popped out once, since I have had it.
I will be looking into that and I will work out another way of locking the main shaft, as Powakaddy will not improve that fault in the future to come.
The handle power mechanism doesn't always work straight away, I have to pump it up and down a couple of times before it kicks in.
I now push the handle down very slowly to start movement in my trolley, far too sensitive as far as I am concern, especially when moving over very rugged undulating fairways.
As far as I'm concern..., a total wast of money.
The reason I purchased this trolley, was the well established name and quality of Powakaddy, boy!!!!, did I get that one wrong.
Good luck to all of my fellow Powakaddy Touch Trolley golfers, you will need it.

I have had my powakaddy touch for one year, during this time the following problems have occured.
The on/off switch in the handle failed and had to be replaced, I had to take the trolley to a Powakaddy repair centre 25 miles away.
The welding on the main frame broke away during a round, what a carry on !!!!. Trolley had to go away for repair, Powakaddy replaced the part, it will break again as the design is flawed.
Last week during a round the drive wheel fell off, snapped off from the drive motor, another carry on !!!.
These trolley's are very poorly designed and not fit for purpose, my trolley has just been sent back ( 16/12/11 to powakadyy for further attention.
I have written to powakaddy to inform them that I am not prepared to accept another repair.
I will see them in court should I not get my money back or indeed another model of trolley.
I am fed up off dragging the thing back to the clubhouse.

There is a design fault on the powakaddy touch. I ve had mine for one year and the weld on the main frame has just failed for the second time. Its going back for repair , but steer clear of this model is my advice.

My Powakaddy touch model is brand new.
On first use it topples up backwards when going up slight inclines.
I was very fustrated and after 9 holes when back and used my cheap push cart.
