Ben Sayers M8 utility
Price: £50.00
Ben Sayers is a consistently solid performer at the lower end of the price spectrum. How does is M8 hybrid fare against more expensive models?

Design and Tech Benefits
The weight screws in the rear are designed to improve balance, reduce clubhead distortion at impact and help enlarge the sweetspot. A wide head design is intended to make it easier to achieve a more consistent contact from a variety of lies.
Golf Monthly Verdict
Generates a fairly low ball flight but still achieves plenty of distance. It has a fairly large and heavy head for a utility and this can make it slightly more difficult to power through the rough.

I have all four lofts of this club in my bag and they have transformed my game. I have always struggled with five irons and lower, but have no trouble with these. To be fair I cannot rate them against other hybrids, I only know that the first one I purchased just sat nicely and felt right.
I have gradually added the others and now the longest iron in my bag is a six iron. The 26 degree loft compares to a five iron, and the 17 degree to a two iron. I have never had a two iron and rarely ever used a three iron. Well our course is 64000 yards from the yellow tees and now I do use the 17 degree, and the 20 degree (three iron equiv) is my third most used club behind my putter and driver.
