TaylorMade r7 CGB MAX Rescue

Price: £139.00

Designed to get the ball up quickly on a high ball flight, the r7 CGB MAX Rescue is aimed squarely - or should that perhaps be triangularly - at the game improver market.

Design and Tech Benefits

The triangular-shaped clubhead has a low and deep centre of gravity for a higher-launching ball flight. Fitted with a Fujikura RE*AX SuperFast shaft to promote a faster swing speed and better distance.

Golf Monthly Verdict

I was unsure about the colour of this Rescue club, but I loved both the compact shape and the confidence-inspiring high ball flight that it produced.

Currently using the Cleveland Launcher range for Driver and fairway woods and am reasonably pleased with them. Recently I took the Cleveland XLS Hybrid 3i 22degree regular shaft and the Taylormade R7 CGB 4 22degree regular shaft out for a test drive on the range and found the Taylormade is a neat, well balanced club with consistent strike... more than I can say about the Cleveland, so I would recommend the Taylormade.

I have had the 3 19 degree club for a full season. I am a 17 handicap but have a high swing speed. This club has a high launch angle for me and will hook. It is very light and can release early. However, when I am swinging good I can hit it from the fairway 270 and it stops like a wedge. I have hit 4 greens under regulation from around 240 yds. The best use for this club is to layup on shorter par 4's. If I need a 250 yd shot I will be off the fairway by a few yards at worst. I hit the 150 stick in the middle of the fairway. This club out plays my previous 3 wood Olimar Trimetal. It saves a day when my driver lags behind and I'm slicing. I recommend this club for players hooking a 3 wood and are more comfortable with a steep approach seen with irons. This club will solve off the tee issues as well as second shots on par 5's. The MOI helps and I love the looks. Others seem to be envy it as well,
