To boldly go with a selection of Captain Kirk could have been just out of this world

Captain Kirk was a popular figure not only to Star Trek fans, but also with those in our fantasy golf competition who his week were doubling up on the Crowne Plaza Invitational winner’s points.

Captain McIlroy was a far less popular figure as Rory’s defence of his PGA Championship title at Wentworth finished after two days.

PGA Tour There were potentially some big points being doled out Stateside as Chris Kirk, from pot 1, won the Crowne Plaza Invitational and two pot 2 players were among the three runners up – Jordan Spieth and Brandt Snedeker. If you missed out on Kirk let's hope you had picked joint runner-up Jason Bohn instead from that pot.

European Tour South Korea's Byeong Hun An’s romp around Wentworth in the PGA Championship was the 23-year-old's first win on one of the world's major tours.

Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez came second, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee third and Chris Wood was fourth, thus spreading the big points around the pots.

Overall Team Sportsbob’s scramblers now heads the overall standing after a nifty bit of transfer activity which brought in Chris Kirk and Jordan Spieth, and helped offset having Rory McIlroy as Captain.

In the monthly table Sportsbob’s scramblers now lie second behind Golfanetti.

Who’s hot and who’s not Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Emiliano Grillo (for the second week running) were the most popular players to be subbed into teams last week.
