The Qatar Maters is played on a course where sand iron takes on a new meaning

Oliver Fisher

Oliver Fisher was the leader after day one of the Qatar Masters, having shot 65, his lowest score in 20 career rounds at Doha Golf Club.

Stephen Gallacher

The 16th hole yielded 80 birdies on the first day - in other words 63% of the field made birdie at this par 4 which was set up at 297 yards on the first day. However Stephen Gallacher was not one of them. Indeed he did not birdie the hole all week - he made two pars, a bogey and an eagle here on his way to a tied 33rd spot.

Justin Rose of

The Qatar Masters was Justin Rose’s 250th tour start. He has won seven of these tournaments, most notably the US Open of 2013, and has finished runner-up ten times. He has finished in the prize money 182 times, earning a total of €16.5m

Eddie Pepperell

Eddie Pepperell celebrated his 24th birthday on the second day of the Qatar Masters, and on the third he shot the day’s low score. 65, with nine birdies. He followed this up on the final day with a 67 for a fourth position. Bizarrely he dropped shots on three of the 72 holes - and two of them had been in his low round of 65 - with bogeys and the 9th and 12th. But in that round he also made 9 of his 20 birdies.

Marc Warren

Marc Warren was one of four joint leaders going into the final day. A double bogey at the 8th appeared to have sunk his chances of victory, but he rallied superbly with six birdies in his next nine holes but was unable to secure a fourth European title when he missed a 20-foot putt on the final green to force a play-off.

Branden Grace Commercial Bank Qatar Masters - Day Four

Midway through the final round at the Doha Cup there were six players tied at the top. But Branden Grace pulled two shots clear when his drive at the par-4 16th, which was teed up at 295 yards for the final round, ended four feet from the flag to set up an eagle.
