Titleist staff professional Rory McIlroy re-wrote the record books in America as

he stormed to an emphatic eight-shot victory in the US Open at Congressional Country Club.

The 22-year old Ulsterman’s unprecedented winning score of 16-under par, 268, was testament to

his devastating ball-striking and control.

On his way to victory, McIlroy broke a

total of 12 records including the 36, 54 and 72-hole scoring records. He also became the first player in tournament history to go lower than

12-under-par, reaching an extraordinary 17-under par during Sunday’s final round after almost making a hole-in-one on the par-3 10th.
