Ping Anser fairway wood launched
The Ping Anser fairway wood is the first adjustable fairway wood from the brand
Ping is set to launch its first ever adjustable fairway wood, the Ping Anser fairway wood. Through Ping's Trajectory Tuning process, players will be able to fine-tune the trajectory of the club through loft adjustment. The adjustability is designed to be simple and easy to use and allows the loft to be changed up or down by half a degree.
The head features the sleek matte-black finish first seen in the i20 woods and is designed to reduce glare. A weight port in the rear of the sole produces a mid to high launch and low levels of spin. There is more surface area low on the face to improve contact at impact, and the back of the sole is tapered to help ensure a clean contact.
The adjustable design is lightweight and small so that it doesn't affect the aerodynamics of the head. The Ping Anser fairway wood (£220) will be available in 14.5°, 16.5° and 18.5° lofts, with the Ping TFC 800F shaft as standard in Soft R, R, S and X flexes. Adding loft to each club will slightly close the face and reducing loft will open it.
