Golf Monthly caught up with two-time Ryder Cupper Robert Karlsson, who became the first Swede to win the European Tour Order of Merit last year. The big Swede reveals what’s in the bag:

DRIVER I’m still playing the old Titleist 905R driver 9.5˚ with an x-flex Grafalloy blue shaft. When I’m playing well I can hit it both ways and when I’m not hitting so well I favour a draw.

FAIRWAY WOODS I’m already using the new Titleist 909F3, 18˚, with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red shaft. I switch between this and my 2-iron. I like to be able to move my fairway both ways.

2-IRON I use a Titleist 735 CM 2-iron. I think the blade 2-iron is just too hard to hit, they look great but they’re scary! Olazabal is the only player I can think of who uses a bladed 2-iron.

IRONS 4-PW I play Titleist ZM irons with Dynamic Gold Superlight X100s. They are an inch longer than standard so I need light shafts, otherwise it would affect the feel.

WEDGES I carry a  50˚, 55˚ and 60˚. I have two different sets though – one has old grooves, the other new grooves. This helps with spin control on different courses.

PUTTER I use a Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport. I’ve tried a few different shapes over the years. I remember using the Nick Faldo TPA shape for a while but in the end I’ve stayed classical.

BALL I’ve used the Titleist Pro V1x since it came out. The control is so good.
