Callaway has announced the launch of two distance-enhancing golf balls for 2014: the Callaway X2 Hot and Callaway X2 Hot+.

The Callaway X2 Hot family of golf balls are specially designed to produce long and straight ball flights.

The balls, which are both three-piece models, are designed to match distinct swing speeds. The X2 Hot is engineered for those with swing speeds of 90mph and below, while the X2 Hot+ is for golfers with swing speeds of 90mph and above.

The Callaway X2 Hot golf balls utilise HEX technology, which optimises aerodynamics for a more stable and penetrative ball flight.

What's more, a Trionomer cover is employed alongside a fast tech mantle to produce Callaway's softest ever multi-layer design.

Dave Bartels, Callaway's Senior Director of Golf Ball Research and Development, said:

"Golfers stand to gain significant performance benefits from playing a golf ball engineered to fit their game.

"The X2 Hot family is all about maximising distance and forgiveness to help golfers hit lower scores, which is reflected in the Callaway X2 Hot and X2 Hot+ golf balls."

Both the Callaway X2 Hot and X2 Hot+ golf ball lines are available in white and newly-formulated Optical Yellow for greater visibility.

Callaway's X2 Hot and X2 Hot+ golf balls are available from retailers across Europe from January 31, with an RRP of £24.99 per dozen.
