CROWN GOLF STARTS GOLF CLUB TV ROLLOUT

Flat screen TVs are nothing unusual at golf clubs, but Crown Golf is taking customer communications to a dazzling new level with Golf Club TV.

The 55" digital screens will show club announcements and golf course information, plus local weather, golf tips, and general content from the world of golf, as well as short lifestyle features.

Crown Golf clubs - Merrist Wood, Hampton Court Palace and Pine Ridge in Surrey, Blue Mountain in Berkshire and Cams Hall Estate in Hampshire - will receive their Golf Club TV units later this month.

The new service made its public debut on the Crown Golf Freedom Play stand at last week's London Golf Show, at Earls Court.

"Golf Club TV will help our managers and their teams to inform and entertain their customers in a totally new way" said Crown Golf CEO, Stephen Lewis. "We have had inter-linked TV screens before, but these new displays are much more eye-catching."

Golf Club TV is the brainchild of Julian Clogg, Managing Director at Surrey-based firm Leisure Media & Communications.

Clogg has over 20 years' experience in developing outdoor and digital TV screen media networks in the UK.

"The public response at the London Golf Show was overwhelming, reinforcing our belief that golfers will thoroughly welcome these screens at their local club." Commented Clogg.

"Golf Club TV will deliver an affluent ABC1 audience, predominately Males aged 30-60 years, which is an attractive target market to many brands" said Tim Darwell-Taylor, LM&C Commercial Director.

To avoid interruption to the ambient atmosphere of the golf club, Golf Club TV screens are silent, and instead use captions and sub-titles.
