Essendon Country Club Gains National Recognition from England Golf
The Golf Mark High Achiever Accreditation was given to Essendon Country Club
Essendon Country Club has been awarded England Golf's coveted Golf Mark High Achiever Accreditation.
The Golf Mark award identifies Essendon as one of England's most junior and beginner friendly golf clubs and recognises the lengths to which it has gone to make its facilities open to all.
"We are delighted to have been awarded the coveted Golf Mark status as it recognises all the hard work we have done over the last 12 months to make Essendon an attractive place to learn to play golf," said co-owner, Kieran Griffin.
"However, this is only just a start," added Griffin. "We hope to build on this in the future and ensure that Essendon is recognised as one of the most user-friendly golf clubs in the country."
Essendon is situated in a 400-acre estate between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford and close to the M25, M1, A1 and A10.
It features two courses, the 6,808-yard Old and the 6,938-yard New, a 9-hole pitch and putt course, extensive practice facilities and a delightful clubhouse built around an original 16th century barn.
