FootJoy has unveiled some of the garments to feature within its comprehensive new 2017 Autumn/Winter performance golf apparel collection.

The 2017 Open Championship, known for its typically inclement weather, is the third leg of the recent links swing on the European Tour - the ideal time to seed the new collection with some of the world’s best players, gaining feedback on the performance and quality of its latest offerings.

As worn by the likes of FootJoy Brand Ambassadors Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston and Matthew Southgate during the year's third major, the collection features all new colour stories, fresh product categories and a number of innovative options in keeping with the brand’s ‘Layer Up’ philosophy.

FJ Dryjoys LTS jacket

Among the exciting additions to the 2017 line are the DryJoys Tour LTS Jacket (RRP £250), Rain Shirts (RRP £230) and Trousers (RRP £200), which offer lightweight waterproof performance through a minimal five-panel construction, as well as temperature regulating properties and stretch fabrication. Such is the standard of this new rainwear line, 35 players immediately opted to switch into LTS following testing during the links swing events.

DryJoys Tour LTS derives from three simple terms:

Lightweight Construction - Previous FJ jackets have had as many as 24 panels and 27+ seams. The new DryJoys Tour LTS jacket has just five panels and six seams, reducing weight and bulk while improving mobility.

Temperature Regulation - The jacket suitable for year-round play has been produced using a specially developed ThermoLite bonded liner, guaranteeing that when conditions are cool, the jacket will maintain body heat and when conditions are warm, the fibres wick moisture away from the body and expel heat.

Stretch Fabrication - FJ has developed an all-new 3-Layer Bonded Fabric which boasts soft, comfortable and quiet attributes, as well as excellent 4-way stretch, ensuring mobile, comfortable and quiet movements.

The LTS range joins stylish new colour combinations of the ever-popular DryJoys Select and FJ HydroLite in the brand’s best-performing rainwear line-up yet.

FootJoy polo

Joining a host of other specialised garments to combat the cold and wind are two new clothing families, complete with three polo shirts and two Chill-Outs in seasonal colour tones. The Mulberry Collection takes its name from the Mulberry, White, Heather Charcoal and Black colourways incorporated, while Indigo, White, Coral and Heather Grey feature strongly across the Indigo Collection.

FJ mid-layer

Within both men’s and women’s ranges for Autumn/Winter 2017 are Outer, Mid and Base layer garments, which, when combined, provide the ultimate layering solution for the challenging and often variable off-season conditions.

Paul O’Hagan, FJ Marketing Executive, said: “At FootJoy, we continue to produce Performance Golf Apparel that makes every day playable, and with the new additions and enhanced garments this Autumn/Winter collection presents, we are more confident than ever that golfers choosing the Mark of a Player will be better equipped than ever before.

“The collection features brand new product categories alongside upgrades to established favourites. With the variation offered by our Outer, Mid and Base layers, golfers will have a truly comprehensive wardrobe to tackle all elements this golfing season.”
