Teeofftimes.co.uk to join Golf Foundation to support young golfers
Teeofftimes.co.uk is to help the next generation of golfers to thrive by raising funds for the Golf Foundation.
As the Foundation's new ‘Official Tee-Time Booking Partner', a scheme will begin in 2014 whereby golf clubs will each be asked to donate funds raised from the sale of four golf course green fees to the Golf Foundation, collected by the Teeofftimes.co.uk team.
Teeofftimes.co.uk will also be donating all of the commission from the sale of these tee times directly to the Golf Foundation.
Money raised will support the leading golf charity's work in making the game more accessible to children from all backgrounds and circumstances.
The Golf Foundation's ‘HSBC Golf Roots' strategy grows the game in schools and communities and then encourages more young people into the club environment where they can enjoy golf and the sport's ‘Skills for Life."
Initially, 150 out of 350 golf clubs which are HSBC Golf Roots Centres will be approached to launch the scheme, with a second tranche of clubs lined up to take part next year.
Richard Barker, General Manager of Teeofftimes.co.uk, said: "Club members and/or the club manager can decide to donate tee times and raise money to help young players.
Many of these members are already heroes of junior golf due to their volunteering, and this simple scheme allows them to build on the club's contribution to the game."
