The Belfry reports increase in numbers for 2011

The Belfry's three courses and PGA National Academy's custom-fit venue see a significant increase in numbers in 2011

The Belfry has reported and increase in both the number of golfers playing its three championship courses and its PGA National Golf Academy during 2011.

Over the last year, the number of rounds played on the Brabazon, the PGA National and the Derby courses increased by 10% compared to 2010. This takes the total number of rounds to more than 300,000 in the last three years.

The PGA National Golf Academy also saw an increase of 10% in the number of custom-fit sessions with over 2000 golfers utilising the largest custom-fit venue in Europe last year.

Gary Silcock, director of golf at the Belfry, said: "We're delighted that the number of golfers playing the three courses and taking custom-fits is increasing year on year.

"It's thanks to the hard work of our greenskeepers, PGA Professionals and resort staff that we can offer a level of service that leaves such a positive impression on golfers of all abilities."
