Titleist introduce new Pro V1 golf ball

Titleist has introduced the new 2009 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls, scheduled to hit the shops at the beginning of March 2009

Titleist has introduced the new 2009 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball, scheduled to hit the shops at the beginning of March 2009.

The Pro V1 took the golf industry by storm in 2000, and the three-piece multi-layer ball continues to set the standard by which all other golf balls are compared.

In keeping with the advanced technology experienced in drivers, fairway woods and putters, the new Pro V1 maximises distance, durability and performance.

And the new golf balls should also appeal to a range of golfers with varying launch conditions.

Titleist’s high-coverage 392 dimple design with Staggered Wave parting line contributes to consistent ball flight. In addition, the reformulated and larger core provides soft feel, while contributing to longer distance.

Meanwhile, the four-piece Pro V1x controls spin rate on full iron shots into and around the green through its redesigned Ionomeric casing layer.

The new ball has already received praise from Tour professionals such as Camilo Villegas. “I am really happy with the new 2009 Pro V1,” said the Colombian.

“It was an easy change for me. This has a little more spin and I have gained more control from tee-to-green.”
