Wilson Staff claim to have launched the world's softest golf in the form of the DX3 Urethane, a ball that combines distance off the tee with greenside feel and control

Wilson Staff claim to have launched the ‘world’s softest urethane golf ball’ in the form of the DX3 Urethane.

The latest addition to the DX line – which also includes the 29 compression DX2 Soft and the 35 compression DX3 Spin – the new 55 compression DX3 Urethane golf ball delivers a softer feel, while still providing exceptional distance and control around the greens.

"We’ve been working on a low compression solution for urethane covers since we introduced the original DX2 a decade ago," said Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Innovation for Wilson Staff Golf Balls.

"Our testing has consistently shown that most golfers prefer a softer-feeling ball and the DX3 Urethane is unrivaled in offering the better player full control of the golf ball.”

The new ball has been developed to match the brand’s Feel, Crossover and Distance (F-C-D) ball-fitting system that offers benefits to fit individual playing styles.

The new DX3 Urethane ball should work well with the recently launched Wilson Staff PMP wedges, which feature laser etched micro spin lines to maximise greenside spin and control.

“The DX3 Urethane has been designed specifically for the Feel player,” said Doug Wright, Global Commercial Director of Wilson Golf. “Thanks to its multi-layer construction, better players can also expect Tour-quality spin and control on the greens as well as great distance.”

The new Wilson Staff DX3 Urethane has a RRP of £29.99 per dozen and will be available from stockists in January 2016.
