ABOUT HSBC

HSBC's international investment and support for golf continues to grow. In addition to its existing title sponsorship of three leading tournaments worldwide the HSBC World Match Play Championship, held at Wentworth, England (September 14-17, 2006) the HSBC Women's World Match Play Championships at Hamilton Farm, New Jersey, USA (July 6-9, 2006) and the HSBC Champions, Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai (November 9-12, 2006) HSBC earlier this year added the Enjoy Jakarta HSBC Indonesia Open at Emeralda Golf Club in Jarkarta (March 2006).

As well as title sponsorship of some of the world's finest golfing events, HSBC is also committed to growing the sport at a grassroots level. In the UK alone, a comprehensive development programme includes HSBC Wee Wonders, a dynamic junior golf tournament for 5-12 year old boys and girls, the HSBC Amateur Match Play, a high-profile amateur equivalent match play competition and this year will host the first HSBC Junior Match Play tournament for 12-18 year old boys and girls. This truly international sponsorship portfolio is not only indicative of the bank's alliance to one of the world's most popular sports, but also reflects the values of integrity and honesty which HSBC and golf share. As the ‘world's local bank’ HSBC is committed to being an influential and significant part of this global community, helping it to grow and develop.
