How to align your body properly on wedge shots

A full swing fault that often creeps into the short game is to aim your shoulders too far left. This forces you to cut across the ball through impact.
When hitting a full shot, this simple mistake causes a slice. Around the green it also hurts your accuracy and ball striking.
Lay a shaft down on the ground between your feet and the ball pointing parallel to the target. Now ensure that your shoulders are parallel to this shaft (your feet can still be open if that feels most comfortable).
With your body now square you can swing back and through on a more natural path and as you create less sidespin at impact, your chances of an accurate shot increase.
