Luke Donald swing analysis

Learn from Luke Donald's rhythmn

Playing alongside Tiger Woods in the final group at Medinah in the USPGA 2006, Luke Donald shot 74 to the American's 68. The 28-year-old Englishman was unable to maintain the low scoring standards he'd set in the first three rounds – a cold putter was to blame.

But fans of Donald can take heart from his ability to cling on to his smooth rhythm, even under the glare of the final day's battle.

His success from the fairway and tee is largely built on a fluid tempo and gentle acceleration through impact. As the pressure mounted his easy-going style never once became too fast or too ragged.

Next time you are feeling the heat, concentrate on maintaining a smooth swing. This will ensure that your arms and body work together for powerful, accurate results.
