Don't be afraid to hit the ball hard

Use your body to create clubhead speed

Build up the speed

Contrary to what many people believe, I think a lot of amateurs don't swing hard enough.

Too often in pro-ams I hear my playing partners blame a quick tempo for a wayward shot when the actual fault is something totally unrelated.

For a powerful, accurate strike you need a steady build up of pace through the swing.

Remember that at impact the club should be moving at it's fastest so don't be afraid to hit the ball hard.

I completely agree. I can guarantee a failed shot if I don't put the effort in.

Hi, as a newly qualified ASQ Level 2 golf coach, I'd like to see more frame by frame swing analysis of some of the top 50 players in the world with commentary from your coaching staff on the fundamentals that make these swings so good. David Howell and Graeme McDowell would be the perfect start, both great players with quite different swings - or are they?
