Golf tips: Develop a safe shot
Golf tips: Develop a safe golf shot
Does this sound familiar? You lose control of your swing under pressure and/or you do not have a reliable golf shot shape.
Many of the world's best players hit a fade when they are under pressure. The ability to harness the extra energy created by adrenalin and to turn your upper body hard through the ball creates a safe shot.
Place a golf club down to mark your target line. Start by setting the club at address and aiming at your target. Now set your feet aiming left of the fairway. This is key as your open-body position alters your swing path.
It is imperative you swing the club along the line of your body. The club will travel from outside the target line to in, creating sidespin. A safe shot under pressure is essential - so take time to work on this in practice.

There has been plenty of discussion on the forum recently to the effect that the clubhead should not be pointing directly to the target because that will cause the ball to miss right of target.
Gary Alliss backed that up on his recent video contribution.

Ignore this attempt at inirtuctson This guy doesn't use his legs correctly look at how he twists his hips to allow a backswing .that is not a reliable, repeatable movement .such a movement results in the straightening of the right leg consequently altering dynamic posture or creating a reverse pivot hence why the guy never looks to make a full shoulder turn as he would not be able to get back to the ball without coming over the top!
