Get out of greenside bunkers

Escape the greenside bunker

The pros on tour escape from dangerous greenside traps with monotonous regularity.

The key to their success is an athletic stance that allows room to slide the clubface into the sand.

Notice how I maintain the flex in my legs – this provides a solid base around which my upper body can turn to deliver a committed swing.

My wrists hinge rapidly on the downswing, accelerating my hands through impact and sweeping the clubhead underneath the ball.
