Note your hell position
Whenever I play with amateurs, the one fatal mistake that I see time and again is leaning back.
If your body is behind the ball through impact you'll hit the ground before the ball and a woefully weak strike will be the inevitable result.
If you are prone to hanging back, your right heel will be planted to the ground as you hit the ball – it's a telltale sign.
Work hard on the range developing the perfect weight shift. Through the downswing allow your weight to move towards the target and your right heel will automatically lift through impact.
