Kill your slice
Once you have set up perfectly square to the target (make sure that you are NOT aiming left), it is important to guard against cutting across the ball through impact.
The club needs travel from inside to outside the ball to target line through the downswing. If you are used to slicing the ball, realigning your swing path is crucial but will take some careful work so try this drill.
Place an umbrella on the ground, equidistant between your feet and the ball. Make sure that half way through your downswing your hands and clubhead are both inside, not outside the umbrella. This position will inevitably feel alien at first and may lead to a few wayward shots but stick with it – straighter drives will come.
