Be a master planner

One of the easiest ways to improve your score is to devise a game plan. Before you head to the 1st tee, spend five to 10 minutes looking through your course planner.

On each hole mark the positions from which you'd ideally like to play your second or third shots.

Think about your strengths, when to attack and when to defend.

By considering exactly where you want to hit the ball you'll develop a positive mental approach.
When you get to the course, it's vitally important to stick to your strategy.

Having plotted the best route around the course, never alter your strategy to protect or chase a good score.
